This event was great fun and rather educational for all concerned. It was also excellent training for those younger members with aspirations to serve on their respective wine committees. Hints, bouquets and the odd nose were in abundance as the club tables battled it out for the winner's magnum of champagne. In the end a Carlton Club hosted table took the prize much to the surprise of the new Secretary at the Oxford and Cambridge who was formally Secretary at the Carlton. Club world is a small world.
