Younger Members' Inter-Club BURNS SUPPER 2010
Hosted by the
Caledonian club
Friday 13th January 2010 Fine wine, food, whisky and plentiful renditions of the Bards verse was the order of the day as the Caledonian Club played host to the first Inter Club Burns Supper.
A stirring version of ‘Scots Wha Hae’ by Russell McMillan at the top of the evening set a high standard for the classic Burns Supper Programme that was undertaken, in all parts by the Caledonian Club’s younger members.
Throw in a rousing rendition of ‘Address to a Haggis’ by Adam Watson, a highly entertaining ‘Toast to the Lassies’ by Paul Rodgers, some expert piping from piper Andy Parsons and a spirited version of ‘Auld Lang Syne’ to close the evening, and this evening exceeded expectations, hopefully setting the standard for the rest of the 2010 IC programme.
The usual thanks need to go to the Club Secretary Ian Campbell and Events Secretary Roz Fagan who hosted and organised in fantastic fashion as always, and a special mention to Jock Meikle who gave his time to present the ‘Immortal Memory’.
