The Younger Members' Inter-Club Group Ceilidh
Friday 25th September 2009
Hosted by The Caledonian Club
The sprung dance floor in the Caledonian Club’s members’
dining room was once again used to maximum affect as a
glamorous crowd turned up for this year’s Inter Club
black tie ceilidh. Guests were welcomed by the “Scirl o
the Pipes” as a very talented young man, the son of one
of the Caledonian Club’s members, played everyone in for
the Champagne reception. A good showing of Scottish fare
and whisky was then presented at dinner before everyone
took to the dance floor.
George Buchanan and his ceilidh band provided the music and
instruction for the dance aspect of the evening and there were the
usual impressive dance moves cut out on the dance floor as we worked
our way through from the Dashing White Sergeant to Strip the Willow.
The evening was finished off in style with a midnight supper and the
Members’ Bar staying open to the “wee small hours” to satisfy even
the most serious whisky enthusiasts!
A
great thanks must be paid to Roz Fagan, the Caledonian Club’s Events
Secretary, and the rest of the Club’s staff who put on a great
evening.
