Younger Members' Inter-Club Curry Tasting
hosted by
The oxford & Cambridge club
SATURDAY 12th march 2011 A champagne
reception welcomed 120 guests to the Oxford & Cambridge club, in
order to celebrate a (slightly late) Chinese New Year feast.
Dinner started with a crab and sweet corn
soup and was followed by the guests being Invited to enjoy a range
of dishes including Chinese beef, chow mien, duck spring rolls,
roast pork and special fried rice.
A caramelised banana and coconut ice cream
desert was followed by fortune cookies and sugar fruit.
O&C younger member Gerald Tan gave an
informative talk about the history and origin of the New Year
celebrations, followed with prizes for 'his' and 'hers' best
traditional dress.
Everyone then piled into the bar for a few
more drinks to toast the 'New Year'.
Thanks must go
to all the Oxford and Cambridge's Club staff for hosting such a
fantastic event and Joanna Tudor, the club's younger member's
representative and Inter-Club Co-Chair, who helped to organise the
evening.
