"The Inter-Club Club Crawl 2009"
Thursday 6th August
Hosted By The Royal Over-Seas League,
The Army & Navy Club,
The Reform Club,
The Farmer's Club,
The Savage Club
The Club crawl 2009 was a great success...bar
the torrential rain! However, despite the weather conspiring
against this year's Crawl, once again the participating Clubs
showed Clubland off at its best.
The ROSL greeted thirsty crawlers with a glass
of champagne as we mingled in the garden room and heard a little
about the Club's history. The Army & Navy then sustained - now
drenched - members with wine and hot canapés, and when it came to
leave, the Club sold a record number of its umbrellas. The Reform
club put on a delicious speedy dinner in its beautiful library
before a quick dash across Trafalgar square to the Farmer's Club
where sadly the rain prevented us from enjoying the usual stunning
views over the river. The usual carnage ensued at the Savage club
with a fantastic band, which helped some members to try and dry
their clothes through dancing the night away.
Thanks to
Richard White
and the Royal Over Seas League, Gavin Peake-Jones and the Army &
Navy Club, Gareth Sibson and the Reform Club, Luke Paterson and the
Farmers Club, and Craig Barrett and the Savage Club for hosting us
and helping to make it one of the best Club Crawls to date. A
special thanks must also go to MaryAnne of the Farmers Club for
helping to shoulder the incredible admin burden of organising the
club crawl this year.
