Oktoberfest

On Saturday 16th September 2006 the 173rd Munich Oktoberfest was declared open by the Mayor of Munich with the famous words "O'zapft is!"- the barrel has been tapped.
The Younger Members' Inter-Club Group, in an attempt to bring this Bavarian spirit to London, organised for Oktoberfest 2006 to be celebrated at the National Liberal Club on Friday 29th September.
For only £15 a head, members and their guests enjoyed a wide variety of rare and unusual lagers, stouts and ales accompanied by traditional Oktoberfest food including bratwurst, hendl, käsespätzle, and sauerkraut.
A big thank you to the National Liberal Club and their own crack team of beer enthusiasts Ben Caldecott, Joseph Gordon and Dan Benham (he was the one in the illuminated hat) for all their hard work selecting the beers! Such dedication to Inter-Club duty!
