Close encounters with wild animals with colonel john blashford-snell

For the first event of the 2011 Younger Members’ Inter-Club Group calendar, the Travellers Club was host to Colonel Blashford-Snell’s Library Talk on Close Encounters with Wild Animals. More than 70 members of the Inter-Club Group embarked on a unique voyage, over mountains and deserts, through jungle and swamp, including the quest for a giant mammoth-like elephant in Nepal, with some amazing film clips and photographs.

Following the Library talk, half of the audience joined the Colonel for dinner in the Club’s Coffee Room, a great opportunity for members and guests to learn more about the Colonel past expeditions and his upcoming projects in Mongolia, Bolivia and India.

A great thanks must go to Colonel Blashford-Snell himself for taking the time to share some of his most unique experiences with Member of the Inter-Club Group, and to the Travellers Club for hosting the inaugural event of the 2011 calendar.
