Younger Members' Inter-Club Christmas Ball

The Hurlingham Club hosted 2006 Inter-Club Christmas Ball in considerable style. The lighting, décor and music allowed the 400 guests, from over 8 participating Clubs, to forget the foggy December evening outside. As people ascended the red carpet under a canopy of blue stars it soon became clear that this was going to be a special evening. A string quartet accompanied the champagne reception and a samba band, together with feathered dancing girls, took up the entertainment over dinner. Once coffee was served there was a choice of entertainment in the form of a casino or a disco and people were seen recharging at one before stepping out with vigour and enthusiasm at the other. A few Christmas songs brought the evening to a close at 2am and a fleet of taxis carried the guests home to recover before the excesses of Christmas proper.
